President and CEO
Fred Fromm has always been on the leading edge of technology. Today as CEO of nexVortex he sets the direction and pace for the company. Under his tenure, the company has evolved from an early stage startup to a major Cloud Communications Company.
Fred has held leadership positions at Bell Labs, Siemens and several venture backed Telecom Companies. He has served on the board of ATIS, the U.S. Telecom standards body and was an early advocate for IP Communications. Seeing that potential, he joined nexVortex.
Since then, nexVortex has moved from a leading edge technology company providing business grade VoIP solutions to an industry recognized Cloud Based Communications Services company with Uncommon know-how, Uncommon Commitment, and an Uncommon Service orientation. Fred believes that “everything is going to the cloud” and he is leading nexVortex to be the Uncommon Company that provides high-quality Cloud-based real time solutions for all communication applications.
Fred’s story began in Wisconsin where he earned his BS and MS degrees in Computer and Electrical Engineering. He completed PhD qualifications in Computer Science at Northwestern while working at Bell Labs and later earned an MBA from Florida Atlantic University while with Siemens. He is a Green Bay Packer shareholder and committed fan for life.
Chief Operating Officer
Wes Rogers founded nexVortex in 2002 and his vision and leadership have taken the company from early concept to its current leadership position as a commercial service Cloud Communications Service Provider.
Wes brings twenty-five years of telecommunications experience covering both services and products. During his career, he has held positions with the industry leaders Cisco, MCI, Concert, and Northern Telecom.
Wes is responsible for the company’s customer service, network operations, development and marketing. He is driven by the belief that Uncommon Service, Know-How, Commitment and Innovation drive success.
This is Wes’ third startup. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BSEE from Southern Methodist University, Dallas.
Vice President, IT and Engineering
Dev leads the IT and engineering teams and is responsible for new products and services development, as well as all back office applications and management tools.
Dev has over twenty-five years of experience in technology management and development as well as network management and operational support of worldwide, business-critical network services. His has applied this expertise in the telephony, satellite communication, and financial messaging industries.
During his career, Dev has held positions and provided consulting services for industry leaders like Cisco Systems, S.W.I.F.T. (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications), Alcatel Networks, Orbcomm (originally conceived out of Orbital Science), Orion Networks, Inc. (ONSI) (acquired by Loral), Unisys, and Tata Unisys Limited (now part of Tata Consulting Services).
Dev holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and a MS degree in Computer Science from George Washington University.
Vice President, Network Engineering and Operations
Having the honor of being nexVortex’s first employee, Steve has been integral in the development and deployment of key portions of all nexVortex Cloud Communication Solutions.
Steve and his team are responsible for securing, scaling, and monitoring, the network and its underlying server infrastructure which carries all commercial services. His team also has responsibility for the company’s IT infrastructure, its sales engineering, professional services, and Tier III support for the nexVortex customer base.
Steve has over seventeen years of experience in the computer/telecom industry. He has worked in development and support of applications ranging from financial accounting systems to telephony infrastructure. Steve spent over seven years at Cisco Systems, prior to joining nexVortex, where he worked on the development of several softswitch applications.
Steve holds a BS in Commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia with concentrations in Management Information Systems and Management.
Vice President, Sales
Mike Nowak leads our sales team and channel partner programs. Mike brings a disciplined approach to channel sales, focusing on providing each partner with the tools and support needed to ensure their success.
Mike and his team insist on exceeding expectations during pre-sales, provisioning, and post-sales activities. The nexVortex sales team intends to make doing business with nexVortex as easy as possible by bringing Uncommon service, Know-How, Commitment and Innovation to the sales process.
Mike excels in his ability to design and sell complex solutions, to generate new productive relationships and to make new technology easy for customers and sales partners to understand.
A graduate of Michigan State, Mike began his sales career at IBM and has held sales leadership positions with Optimus Solutions and Bandwidth.com.
VP of Marketing
Chuck Harris leads the Marketing Team at nexVortex and as such is responsible for brand development, channel support programs, product marketing, and public relations.
From an early beginning in product management at AT&T, to executive roles at Siemens where he was VP & GM of both the Global Internet Solutions Business Unit and the U.S. Data Networking Business Unit, Chuck has a broad perspective on the industry from circuit switching to IP networking.
As a veteran of three start-ups, he is no stranger to Cloud Communications where he has led marketing teams for both service providers and equipment suppliers in the 4G Wireless and Voice over IP markets.
Chuck has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University, and an MBA from Duke University.
Vice President, Customer Experience
Deb Matthews joined nexVortex in 2011 and has created a customer support team that provides Uncommon Service twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
If you have a problem, Deb and her team of professionals will fix it. Her goal of superior customer support is a strategic goal of our company and sets us apart from our competitors.
Deb has extensive experience in both the telecommunications industry and customer care and helpdesks. Prior to joining nexVortex, she oversaw BAEs service desk, which was responsible for serving the needs of 53,000 employees all day, every day. She has worked at multiple telecom organizations including Neustar, Startec Global, and Teligent.
Deb holds a degree in English from Hiram College.
Director Corporate Operations
Lita manages all short, medium, and long range strategic and tactical projects for nexVortex. Her responsibilities include managing the development and delivery of new products, analyzing current and planned products to ensure alignment with strategic directives, and leading all cross functional teams required to meet company objectives.
All initiatives, from build-out of internal infrastructure to logistical sourcing and delivery of equipment, to new product rollout runs through her team.
Lita was a telecommunication project manager at Cisco Systems for six years and has extensive experience leading teams on beta implementation of software and hardware solutions in the telecommunication systems industry.
She holds a master’s degree from George Washington University with a focus on Entrepreneurship & Project Management and a BS in Business from Albright College.
Director of Product Strategy
Randy Ethier started with nexVortex during its creation in 2002. In 2014, he joined full-time as the Director of Product Strategy. Randy is responsible for the strategic planning of new services as well as the evolution of existing services.
Randy is an expert in conceiving, designing, and developing commercially successful real-time, fault tolerant products, technologies, and services.
Prior to nexVortex, Randy worked as a developer for MCI, Concert, Cisco, and MITRE.
Randy holds degrees in Computer Science and Economics from Duke University and is a named inventor on a number of U.S. patents.
