The days of traditional landlines might be coming to an end. A New York Post article sites a U.S. government study that found 50.8% of households use cell phones exclusively, surpassing those with landlines (45.9%) for the first time.
Many businesses are also making the move to VoIP and many of them are choosing hosted voice.
Here are a few statistics, according to The VoIP Report:
- The global mobile VoIP market is set to grow around 28% from 2016-2020
- The VoIP services market is expected to grow to $140 billion by 2021
- According to Information Week, 70% of companies indicate they have deployed communication in the cloud or plan to do so
- By the end of 2018, only 6% of the U.S. population will still be using traditional landline phone networks
Moving your company’s phone service to hosted voice is easy and entirely affordable when you work with nexVortex.
Hosted voice benefits:
- Ability to create a virtual office, which allows employees to work from anywhere

The process of switching to a hosted voice solution is not complicated and doesn’t require sophisticated equipment. Here’s how we do it.
6 Easy Steps to a Hosted Voice Implementation
1). Network Assessment
We have a speed test tool. You run it and save the results. It tells you and us if your current internet connection is capable of handling hosted voice or if you need additional bandwidth.
2). Complete a Dial Plan
To configure your solution our provisioning team needs to know your dial plan preferences. These preferences are documented on dial plan forms which we can help you fill out.
3). The Kickoff Call
A kickoff call with be scheduled by your assigned project manager to ensure everyone is on the same page. We will cover timelines, dial plan questions, cutover plan, answer general questions, and set up your account portal.
4). Phone and Service Provisioning
During the ordering process, you will have made the decision to rent, buy new, or have your existing phones re-provisioned.
Once you receive your new or rented phones, or we have finished re-provisioning your existing phones, it is time to plug everything in and make sure it works properly. Phone guide documentation and feature sheets are provided so you know how to use your new phones and our service.
5). Porting Your Phone Numbers
nexVortex will work diligently to port your existing phone numbers. You will be informed once we establish a port date for your existing numbers. If you don’t have any numbers to port, we can help set you up with brand new phone numbers.
6). Port/Install Date and Training
Prior to your port date, your equipment should be set up and tested. Our support team can see when your phones are “live” and can assist you with any questions you may have. On the day of the port, your phones will begin ringing over the nexVortex platform. At this time, our team will follow up with you to confirm everything is set up to your satisfaction
