Fred Fromm

President & CEO

Fred sets the direction and pace for the company. Under his tenure, the company has evolved from early stage startup to profitability.

Fred is a seasoned telecom veteran who over his career has served in leadership positions at Bell Labs, Siemens and several Telecom Startups.

An early advocate for IP Communications he has led nexVortex in moving its pioneering work in business grade VoIP into industry-wide standardization.


Wes Rogers

Founder & Chief Operating Officer

As a founder of nexVortex, Wes' vision and leadership has taken the company from concept to first service to, today, a disciplined, full service IP communication provider. Wes brings twenty-five years of telecommunications experience covering both services and products to the management team.

During his career, he has held positions with the industry leaders Cisco, MCI, Concert, and Northern Telecom. Driven by the belief that Uncommon Service, Know How and Commitment will drive success. Wes oversees customer service, network operations, development and marketing at nexVortex. This is Wes' third startup to participate in. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BSEE from Southern Methodist University, Dallas.


Devendra Singh

Vice President, IT and Engineering

Dev leads the IT and Engineering team and is responsible for IT functions, New Products and Services development, and Back Office Applications and Management tools. He brings great enthusiasm and an extensive skill set to nexVortex.

Dev has twenty plus years of experience in Technology Management and Development, Network Management and Operational Support of worldwide, business-critical network services in telephony, satellite communication and financial messaging. During his career, Dev has held positions and provided consulting services for industry leaders like Cisco Systems, S.W.I.F.T. (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications), Alcatel Networks, Orbcomm (originally conceived out of Orbital Science), Orion Networks, Inc. (ONSI) (acquired by Loral), Unisys, and Tata Unisys Limited (now part of Tata Consulting Services).

Dev has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He also holds a MS degree in Computer Science from the George Washington University.


Steve Helfen

Vice President, Network Engineering and Operations

Steve joined nexVortex in 2006 and holds the honor of being our first employee. Steve and his team are responsible for managing the overall health of the network, scaling the network to meet demand and deploying new and innovative services.

Steve has over fifteen years of experience in the computer/telecom industry. He has worked in development and support of applications ranging from financial accounting systems to telephony infrastructure. Steve spent over seven years at Cisco Systems where he worked on the development of several softswitch applications. Steve holds a BS in Commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia with concentrations in Management Information Systems and Management.


Mike Nowak

Vice President, Sales

Mike leads our sales and partner programs. He joined nexVortex in 2009 bringing a disciplined approach to channel sales, focusing on providing each channel partner with the tools and support needed to ensure their success. Mike’s passion for excellence in both partner and customer service has resulted in our industry leading multi-tiered reseller program that drives the exceptional growth of nexVortex. Mike and his team insist on exceeding expectations during pre-sales, provisioning, and post sales activities. “Ease of doing business” is their Mantra.

A graduate of Michigan State, Mike began his sales career at IBM and has held sales leadership positions with Optimus Solutions and

Recently, Mike was voted a finalist for the Channel Partner Executive of the Year. Channel Partners magazine focuses on the communications industry's indirect sales channel.


Deb Matthews

Vice President, Customer Experience

If you have a problem, Deb and her team of professionals will fix it. Her goal of superior customer support is a strategic goal of our company and sets us apart from our competitors.

Deb has extensive experience in both the telecommunications industry and customer care and helpdesks. Prior to joining nexVortex, she oversaw BAEs service desk, which was responsible for serving the needs of 53,000 employees all day, every day. She has worked at multiple telecom organizations including Neustar, Startec Global, and Teligent.


Lita Miller

Strategic Project Manager

Lita manages strategic projects for nexVortex. She is responsible for short, medium and long-range strategic and tactical projects and initiatives.

Lita was a telecommunication project manager at Cisco Systems for six years. She has also led teams on beta implementation of software and hardware utilization in telecommunications systems, including supervision of technical staff.

Lita holds a master’s degree from George Washington University with a focus on Entrepreneurship & Project Management.
